Tuesday Inspiration

"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."
- George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian

Trying to keep motivated and keep on track. I will try and not use the excuse, "I'm Too Tired."  (baby boy willing :) )

Below is an old pictures from 2012 at a DRC race.

Frigid 5K/10K

Hello ya'll...excited about this blog! I haven't figured out how to add/edit other posts so I just created a new one with the same title.

The Frigid 5k-10k was a cold run but from what I can remember it always has been. We have been running DRC races since 2011. It is such a GREAT club and is full of awesome, motivating, inspiring people. As long as I am living in North Texas I will be a part of this club.

Usually the families come to support/run with us but with busy schedules and cold weather it was just me and Trixie this time.

Can I get a big WOOT WOOT for Trixie's 2nd place finish? I was disappointed that we couldn't be there to see her medal presented to her. Next time! We don't run to place necessarily or run to beat others. Our main goal is to stay and shape and challenge, meet and exceed our goals and PR's but it sure does feel good to medal. :)

I have signed up for a half-marathon this April and excited to get back in shape and put some miles behind me.

The pictures are from the Frigid 5k-10k. Im not sure why we are glowing or what happened but here is our proof.

Happy Running!

Frigid 5K/10K

Jenny and I ran the frigid 5K on Saturday.  I was feeling pretty good that day despite just running a half marathon Tuesday.  I ended up running it in 28:37 and took second in my age division. This is the first time I have placed in a Dallas running club race.  Most people ran the 10K I think.  It felt good to see my name in second place though.

Jenny did great!  She came in at 32:29, which is great for her first race without pushing a stroller and after having a baby only 6 months ago via C-Section.

We hope to improve our times this year and get our baby fat off.  :)  I am hoping Jenny will add pictures later, and whatever else she wants.
